Mission: To develop and sustainably manage the mineral resource, coastline, and marine environment of Kiribati, and to maximize and foster broad-based growth of our economic resources.

Inshore

Responsible for coastal and nearshore fieldwork, data collection and analysis, supporting the sustainable management of Kiribati's coastline and inshore marine environment.

Offshore

Develops sustainable strategies for offshore mineral exploration and extraction, carrying out geological and geophysical surveys to support responsible resource development.

Kiribati Ocean Data Powerhouse

A dedicated ocean data platform bringing together spatial and scientific information on Kiribati's marine environment. Explore it at seasketch.org/kiribati.

Tanabakoa Beach Cleanup Campaign

"A clean and healthy ocean for a productive ecosystem." The Geo-Science Division supports community beach cleanup initiatives to protect Kiribati's coastline and marine ecosystems.
